Tybee Island- Eileen H. Riggin Wheat, 87, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 2, 2015 at her residence. She was born in Baltimore, MD and moved to Tybee Island in 1984. She was a homemaker and a Communicant of St. Michael’s Catholic Church. Eileen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Surviving are her husband of sixty-seven years, Robert Wheat; children, Robert, Jr., Mark (Nicole), and Robin Deppen (Darryl); sister, Mary Mayer;  five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 6, 2015 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Andersonville National Cemetery.

The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to Eileen’s caregivers, Sharon, Julia, Nancy, Pat, and Sanora. Without all of you, this journey would not have been possible.
